A glimpse into docile shark behavior patterns and characteristics.

Fresh off of Talent Path training, I decided to work on a group project with another work-ready consultant to have more practice working in a team and visualizing data. Due to the fact that sharks are mysterious creatures difficult to find a lot of data for, data gathering took quite some time before we could do any data cleaning or prepping for imports. In the end, we found good raw data on blacktip reef sharks, lemon sharks and nurse sharks (all generally friendly sharks). This project visualizes some interesting variables and possible relationships recorded by researchers while studying the sharks in captivity.

The data for this project was found at https://www.bco-dmo.org/search/dataset/shark. Web-scraping, data cleaning, and data prepping were completed using Python in a Jupyter Notebook. Data was exported as an Excel file for organization, and then imported into Tableau for visualizations. Formatting was done on Google Slides before being loaded into Tableau.
